No, I think they don't have to begin foreign language instruction in kindergarten. Beginning foreign language instruction in kindergarten is kind of early education for their language skills. Learning foreign language is the big issue in my country, Korea. Especially, the kids learn English when they are too young because their parents want their kids to be good in English pronunciation. Whatever the kids want, they have to go to kindergarten that teaches English to kids. English is the most widely used language in the world, and it is important language in these days. It causes Korean parents to be extreme on English education. I don’t know why, they think it is helpful in their kid’s future. For example, Parents spend too much money for English education, and it is too burdensome to parents. Although we don’t use English in Korea, they are extreme on English education to their kids. Before their children could learn Korean, they send their kids to English-speaking countries. They are just kids! Kids can’t have the right of choice although it is about their life. I think the kids who are just kindergarten students don’t have to take foreign language instruction. It is too early to learn second language, because they are not good at their first language yet. They need to be good at their first language first, and then they can learn foreign language after they become well in their first language. They can be stressful and confused by learning two languages at the same time. According to the study what I read in newspaper, the kid who acquire the first language completely can accept the other foreign language easily than the kid who is still learning his first language. This study shows what is more effectively to educate their kids properly. Therefore, I think we don’t have to teach foreign language to kindergarten students.
